With the launch of its first store in Mumbai, Passion Cuisine, a top F&B business, proudly presents Zaatar W Zeit, a globally loved Lebanese urban casual restaurant, to the Indian market. This highly anticipated launch introduces authentic and vibrant Lebanese flavors to the city’s ever-curious culinary scene.
Founded in Lebanon in 1999, Zaatar W Zeit has grown into a global sensation, celebrated for its fresh, flavorful, and accessible Lebanese offerings. The name itself—Arabic for “Za’atar and Olive Oil”—reflects the heart of the brand: rooted in tradition, yet contemporary in spirit.
The Mumbai outlet brings with it a menu that stays true to its Lebanese roots. From traditional manakeesh like Za’atar, Jebneh, and Lahmeh bi Ajjine, to global bestsellers such as Famous Chicken, Spizy Chicken, and Classic Chicken Shawarma, and vegetarian options like Brown Baked Falafel and Light Halloumi—the spread is both hearty and diverse. The offering is rounded off with hearty skillets, fresh salads, and indulgent desserts including Z Knefeh, Chocolate Lava Cake, and Nutella & Banana Manakeesh.
Chef Sarfaraz Ahmed sums it up perfectly: “Shawarma may be everywhere but Lebanese cuisine is more than that and Zaatar W Zeit is here to offer an experience that redefines how Mumbai enjoys Lebanese food.”
Leading the launch are Bhupender Nath, Director, and Sushaan Nath, CEO of Passion Cuisine, who discovered Zaatar W Zeit in Dubai and immediately resonated with its wholesome, flavor-forward approach. “For us, it was more than just great food—it was an experience worth sharing. With Zaatar W Zeit, we’re introducing Mumbai to the true taste of Lebanon, showcasing its rich and diverse offerings that go beyond the familiar.”
With spices sourced directly from Lebanon and a strong focus on fresh vegetables, handmade breads, and clean ingredients, the brand is poised to change perceptions around Lebanese cuisine in India.
Backed by Passion Cuisine’s deep expertise in the Indian and UAE culinary scene—through celebrated restaurants like Avatara, Trèsind, Carnival by Trèsind, Trèsind Studio, and Maison De Curry—Zaatar W Zeit’s debut in India is part of a larger global expansion strategy. With 26 outlets in Lebanon and around 70 globally, including locations as far as Vancouver, the brand is ready to win over Mumbai’s discerning diners.
