As Bengaluru’s evolving food scene keeps pace with its expanding and diverse population, a new culinary address is quickly making a name for itself in Hennur—Sawari, a North Indian kitchen by Grameendine Hospitality. Rooted in tradition yet spiced with bold, familiar flavours, Sawari is more than just a restaurant—it’s a comforting nod to home kitchens, street-side delights, and celebratory family feasts.
With deep expertise honed through years of working with premium hotels and dining formats, Grameendine Hospitality brings an intuitive understanding of what makes a dining experience truly memorable. With Sawari, the group pays homage to the robust flavours of North India while also weaving in the unmistakable charm of Desi Chinese—a combination Bengaluru diners continue to crave.
The menu at Sawari is a flavour-packed journey across nostalgic plates and spicy indulgences. From samosa chaat and dahi bhalla to Purani Dilli ke gol gappe, the chaat selection brings Delhi’s lively lanes to your table. The comforting richness of dishes like paneer makhani, kadai subzi, butter chicken, and kadhai chicken evoke a sense of tradition—recipes that echo generations of Indian kitchens. For those who enjoy a fiery twist, the Desi Chinese side of the menu offers staples like classic chilli chicken, paneer/mushroom in schezwan sauce, and chicken in hot garlic sauce, each dish packing in bold, garlicky flavours and that signature Indo-Chinese tang.
The Sawari Special Thali, available Monday to Friday from 12–4 PM, serves up a complete experience with vegetarian and non-vegetarian mains, jeera rice, dal makhani, butter naan, raita, papad, and gulab jamuns. And for kebab lovers, an array of appetisers set the tone just right—don’t miss Punjab’s fiery pindi choley for a truly rustic bite.
For those with a sweet tooth, Sawari’s dessert selection is a fitting finale. From kulfi falooda, badam gulab kheer, and kesar phirnee to indulgent jalebi with rabri, each offering is a celebration of India’s dessert legacy.
“With Sawari, we are creating a space where everyone gets a feel of the homely Indian kitchen. Our dishes might remind some of the elaborate meals they had back home. We will be serving authentic recipes, cooked in traditional methods to retain the tastes,” shares Pritpal Singh, Founder of Grameendine Hospitality.
“The entire menu is a tribute to our rich culinary heritage with a focus on North Indian specialties. We are partnering with farmers to use direct unadulterated ingredients that retain the originality of flavours,” adds Co-founder Ishant Khanna. “We strive to create a unique dining experience that honours authentic recipes while embracing bold, tangy, and spicy twists.”
Pairing its flavour-forward food with a curated wine list of Indian and international selections, Sawari elevates the everyday North Indian meal into a refined, immersive dining experience. With its rustic soul and modern execution, Sawari is quickly becoming a go-to spot for those seeking warmth, spice, and a journey back to the familiar.
