In the vibrant landscapes of Punjab’s fertile fields, amidst the orchards that brim with lush kinnow fruit, a new story of Indian ingenuity unfolds—one that intertwines the rich traditions of agriculture with the sophisticated artistry of distillation. This story is OreGin, India’s first luxury gin crafted from the kinnow, citrus fruit as emblematic of Punjab as the fields themselves.
OreGin is not merely a beverage; it is a journey. A journey through flavours as vivid and bold as the fruit it’s made from, with the fresh zest of kinnow peel balanced by the earthy warmth of juniper and coriander. Unlike many modern gins that rely on artificial flavouring, OreGin champions purity—crafted to be enjoyed neat, with water, or over ice, allowing its layered, botanical complexity to shine without distraction.
But what truly sets OreGin apart is the story behind the bottle. This is not just a gin; it is a movement—one that uplifts farmers, supports sustainable practices, and redefines the meaning of luxury in the modern world.

Behind every great creation lies a visionary, and for OreGin, that visionary is Manpreet Singh, an impassioned distiller and a member of Team OreGin. Manpreet’s journey began with a single question: how could India’s agricultural roots inspire a truly unique spirit? His search led him to the kinnow—a fruit often undervalued yet brimming with potential.

Working alongside Manpreet in this endeavour is Ranbir Singh of Team OreGin, (CEO of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Ltd.) Together, they forged a partnership that not only created a world-class gin but also transformed the agricultural landscape of Punjab. Punjab Agro’s initiative to utilize “C and D grade” kinnows—fruits deemed too small or irregular for traditional markets—has given these overlooked resources a new purpose.
“This is more than a product; it’s a lifeline,” says Ranbir Singh. “OreGin is proof that sustainability and luxury can go hand in hand, creating value for both consumers and the farming community.”
OreGin’s journey from orchard to bottle is as meticulously crafted as the gin itself. Each year, during the peak kinnow harvest in December, Punjab Agro processes the fruit into high-quality kinnow concentrate at their state-of-the-art facility. This concentrate is then sent to Rhea Distilleries in Goa, where the art of distillation comes alive.
Here, master distiller Regan Henriques, whose family legacy is steeped in India’s spirits industry, applies his expertise to create OreGin’s distinctive flavour profile. Using handcrafted copper stills, Henriques carefully distils the concentrate alongside a curated selection of botanicals. The result is a gin that is at once bold and nuanced, embodying the spirit of the kinnow and the soul of India.
Henriques speaks passionately about the process: “Every batch of OreGin tells a story. It’s about respecting the fruit, honouring the land, and embracing the time-honoured traditions of distillation.”
OreGin’s impact goes beyond its exquisite taste. At its heart lies a mission to uplift Punjab’s farming communities. Through its partnership with Punjab Agro, OreGin has become a beacon of hope for farmers, creating a reliable market for undersized kinnows that would otherwise go to waste.
The initiative has had a transformative effect on the kinnow value chain. By purchasing these smaller fruits at fair prices, Punjab Agro ensures that farmers are not only compensated for their labor but also given an opportunity to thrive. This innovative approach reduces waste, promotes sustainable agriculture, and strengthens the economic well-being of countless farming families.
According to Ranbir Singh, “OreGin is not just a gin; it’s a commitment to the people who make it possible. By turning surplus produce into a premium product, we’re creating a model of sustainability that benefits everyone.”
In a world where luxury often feels detached from authenticity, OreGin offers a refreshing perspective. Each bottle comes with a QR code, inviting consumers to trace the journey of their gin—from the kinnow orchards of Punjab to the distillation rooms of Goa.
This transparency is more than a marketing feature; it’s a philosophy. It reflects OreGin’s dedication to honesty, sustainability, and the people who contribute to its creation.
OreGin is a celebration of India’s heritage, an ode to its agricultural ingenuity, and a testament to the evolving landscape of luxury spirits. With its pure, unadulterated flavours, OreGin invites you to savour the essence of kinnow in its most elegant form.
Currently available in Goa and Haryana, OreGin is poised to make its mark across India, offering discerning consumers a taste of something extraordinary.
OreGin is more than a drink—it’s a story of passion, perseverance, and purpose. For those who seek authenticity, elegance, and a meaningful connection to the land, OreGin is waiting to be discovered.
