Art has an incredible ability to speak to the soul, and this April, Method Art Space, Kala Ghoda, transforms into a haven of creativity as Srila Chatterjee presents the Affordable Art Show. From April 3rd to 6th, this carefully curated exhibition brings together a vibrant collective of artists whose works bridge the gap between heritage and contemporary narratives, offering art that is both collectible and accessible.

Step into a space where every brushstroke tells a story. This showcase features a dynamic range of artistic expressions—delicate watercolours, bold ink compositions, evocative photographs, and intricate Pattachitra and Phad works, each carrying the weight of tradition while embracing fresh, modern perspectives. The exhibition redefines the idea of ownership in the art world, with prices starting at Rs. 3,000 and capping at Rs. 3 lakh, making it an invitation for both seasoned collectors and first-time buyers to take home a piece that resonates.

At the heart of this show are artists whose works embody cultural richness, technique, and raw emotion. Deval Ambani’s floral compositions bring nature to life through a masterful blend of traditional techniques and contemporary flair. Anwar Chitrakar and Suchitra Das reimagine the timeless charm of Kalighat paintings, while Kalyan Joshi’s Phad vehicle series infuses traditional narratives with playful energy. Laltu & Tagar Chitrakar’s Bengal Pattachitra works weave regional folklore into intricate visual tales, standing alongside Sanjay Chitara’s Mata ni Pachedi depictions, a testament to India’s textile heritage. Shahid Datawala’s striking botanical photography captures the poetry of nature, contrasting beautifully with Kaushal Parikh’s bold ink interpretations of the animal world. Vikalp Mishra’s watercolour portraits and Ruby Ram’s introspective figurative studies explore the depth of human emotion, while Surajit Chakraborty’s abstract cityscapes pulsate with urban vibrance.

This showcase is more than just an exhibition; it is a statement—an assertion that art is for everyone. It is a space where craftsmanship meets accessibility, where tradition converses with innovation, and where each viewer finds a connection, a memory, or an inspiration to carry forward.
